New York City - The Capital of the World

New York City, the Big Apple, is one of the most famous cities in the world. The city that never sleeps, New York is awash in activities for natives and tourists alike. People all over the world pray to one day take a holiday to New York. It is no accident the headquarters of the United Nations is in New York. Where else would you put it?

New York holidays are the stuff of dreams. Times Square, Broadway, Hell's Kitchen, Fashion Avenue, Wall Street, the names are legendary and conjure up images of fun, fast-paced living and mystery. Billions of people have heard of Harlem, Brooklyn and the boogie down Bronx, the home of hip hop. Just as many have also heard of Carnage Hall, Radio City Music Hall and the New York Metropolitan Opera. New York breaks all records when it comes to the arts, culture and high finance. Think anywhere else can compete? Forgetaboutit!

From Ellis Island to Coney Island to Staten Island to Long Island to Manhattan Island, there are no islands that are as well known as the ones in New York. In New York, opulence is commonplace. Movie stars, rock stars and sports stars are snubbed as they sit on the subway trying to make their way to the East Village, or make a pilgrimage to the Guggenheim or the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It is all part and parcel of life in New York where everyone is a star or can be! Visit Washington Square Park where the great, the near-great and the once-great all perform in vain attempts to gain the attention of New Yorkers who've seen it all.

Statesmen, students and salesmen come to gaze upon where once stood the World Trade Centre and remember that September that changed the world. But New York lives on and creates new stories and even greater glories that make it the Mecca of the New World.
